Its features focus on the needs of strong dogs and the person holding the leash, including a soft grip handle and reflective stitching on the belt.
Is the KONG Ultimate made for extra-large, strong dogs?
Yes. KONG identifies this retractable leash for extra-large and extra-strong dogs, including tough pullers. Its rugged design is built to last, and KONG says its retractable leashes are made for durability and strength walk after walk. This is a leash intended for walks with powerful dogs, rather than a leash described for smaller dogs.
- Extra-large format for extra-large dogs.
- Designed with strong dogs and tough pullers in mind.
How long is the leash, and what is the belt like?
The belt measures 16 ft (4.88 m) and is color coordinated with the blue leash. Reflective stitching runs along the belt, adding a reflective detail to its design. The retractable format pairs this belt with a handle-mounted control, so the leash is designed for walking rather than as a fixed-length lead.
- 16 ft belt length.
- Blue leash with a matching-color belt and reflective stitching.
How does the brake and lock mechanism work?
The KONG Ultimate has an intuitive brake-and-lock mechanism designed to work with the natural walking motions of you and your dog. The controls are part of the leash, alongside its soft grip handle, giving the person holding the leash access to the brake and lock while walking. The product details specify the mechanism but do not describe separate operating steps.
- Brake and lock control built into the retractable leash.
- Mechanism designed around natural walking motions.
This leash best suits people walking extra-large, strong dogs who want a retractable design with a long belt, a soft grip handle and integrated brake-and-lock control. Its 16 ft color-coordinated belt has reflective stitching, and the leash is designed for powerful dogs and tough pullers.
