For dog owners who want one harness for car journeys and regular walks, the Tru-Fit combines vehicle restraint features with leash attachment options. Its broad, padded chest plate is designed to help disperse energy and reduce injury in the event of an impact crash, while the adjustable design accommodates different dog proportions within the Large size range.

Will the Large harness fit my dog?

The Large size fits a dog with an 18–30 in (46–76 cm) neck and a 24–34 in (61–86 cm) chest. Measure your dog and compare both measurements with these ranges; Kurgo’s size chart provides guidance on how to measure for fit. Five adjustment points let you tailor the harness more closely to your dog’s proportions.

• Size: Large, in black.
• Neck range: 18–30 in (46–76 cm).

How does the harness connect in a vehicle?

The included 10-inch seatbelt tether has a carabiner and is compatible with any vehicle seatbelt system. The harness design and all-steel nested buckle system draw on safety engineering used for harnesses worn by rock climbers and linesmen. It has been crash tested for dogs weighing up to 75 lb (34 kg); this is the stated tested weight limit.

The wide, padded chest plate is designed to help distribute energy and reduce injury if an impact crash occurs. The harness is intended for vehicle use while also providing front and rear leash attachment points for walks.

• Vehicle connection: seatbelt tether with carabiner.
• Compatibility: any vehicle seatbelt system.
• Crash testing: for dogs up to 75 lb (34 kg).

Can I use it for walks, and how do I clean it?

Yes. The Tru-Fit is made for everyday use as well as car travel, with leash attachment points on the front and back. The front No-Pull D-ring provides an attachment point for training a dog not to pull, while the rear attachment offers another leash connection option.

Its padded chest plate adds cushioning where the harness meets the dog’s chest. When it needs cleaning, the harness is machine washable. The combination of vehicle tether, leash points and adjustable fit lets the same harness serve different outings without changing its intended use.

• Front attachment: No-Pull D-ring for leash use and training.
• Rear attachment: a second leash connection point.
• Care: machine washable.

The Kurgo Enhanced Strength Tru-Fit Smart Harness is suited to owners seeking a Large dog harness for both car travel and everyday walks, provided their dog fits the stated neck and chest ranges and weighs within the crash-tested limit.
