NEST ESSENTIALS 18-Inch Dog Herding Ball for Medium & Large Dogs, 1680D Outdoor Training Toy

NEST ESSENTIALS 18-inch (45.7 cm) herding ball is an outdoor training toy for active dogs, built for pushing and steering with 1680D fabric and a YKK double-zipper system.

• 18-inch diameter — encourages dogs to push, chase and steer instead of treating it like a small fetch ball.
• Made for high-drive dogs and supervised outdoor play — gives active breeds a purposeful herding activity.
• 1680D fabric, a YKK double zipper and reinforced construction — designed for active push-and-chase sessions.
• No straps and one launch handle — avoids giving dogs straps to bite during herding practice.
• Ball, improved pump, inflation accessories, training clicker and setup guidance — provides the listed essentials for getting started.

Dogs with strong drive need an activity that channels their energy into movement and direction. This ball is made for outdoor sessions where a handler can supervise play and encourage pushing, chasing and steering. It suits Border Collies, Australian Shepherds, Heelers and other active breeds.

What kind of play is this ball made for?

Its 18-inch diameter is designed for dogs to move the ball with their nose, chest and shoulders during herding play. The larger format encourages purposeful pushing and steering rather than the interaction a small fetch ball invites. Herding is less instinctive than fetching, so the design keeps the activity focused on guiding the ball.

• Use it for supervised outdoor training and active play.
• Encourage your dog to push, chase and direct the ball.

How does the design support herding rather than fetch?

The ball has no straps for a dog to bite and uses one handle for launching. Removing biteable straps helps keep the focus on moving and steering the ball; it does not guarantee that a dog will learn to herd. The construction pairs heavy-duty 1680D fabric with a YKK double-zipper system and reinforced construction for active sessions.

• This is a herding toy, not a chew or tug toy.
• Supervise play and redirect biting.

This toy is best suited to handlers looking to give high-drive dogs, including Border Collies, Australian Shepherds and Heelers, a supervised outdoor activity built around movement and direction. It is intended for herding play rather than chewing or tugging, with its 18-inch size and strap-free design supporting pushing and steering.
