PetSafe Gentle Leader No-Pull Dog Headcollar, Medium Royal Blue with Padded Nose Loop

PetSafe Gentle Leader is a Royal Blue, Medium no-pull dog headcollar designed to redirect a pulling dog’s attention toward you, with an adjustable nose loop and padded neoprene nose loop.

• Designed by a veterinary behaviorist — supports better leash manners by redirecting a dog’s head when they pull.
• Durable nylon straps with a padded neoprene nose loop — the minimal-strap design helps keep your dog cool.
• Quick-snap neck strap and adjustable nose loop — make fitting straightforward.
• Not a muzzle — your dog can still eat treats, drink water, and catch a ball while wearing it.
• Medium size in Royal Blue — made for dogs with a full-length snout, not short-snouted breeds such as pugs or bulldogs.

Pulling on leash can make walks harder to manage and take attention away from time together. The Gentle Leader is a training tool for dogs that pull, whether you are working on everyday leash manners or want added control in situations such as a veterinary visit. Its design redirects a dog’s head toward you rather than allowing them to pull against pressure.

How does the Gentle Leader help with leash pulling?

When your dog pulls, the nose loop gently guides their head toward you so they can refocus on you instead of nearby distractions. This interrupts the natural response to pull against pressure and is designed to help improve leash manners and the bond between you and your dog. PetSafe reports that the headcollar has helped improve 5 million walks around the world.

• Recommended by veterinarians as a tool for interrupting pulling against pressure.
• Designed for walks with dogs that pull and for moments when you want more control.

How do you fit and introduce this headcollar?

The quick-snap neck strap and adjustable nose loop are designed for fitting in minutes. Secure the nose loop and listen for the snap closure. To help your dog get comfortable with the headcollar, let them wear it without a leash while doing favorite activities before using it on a walk.

• Use the adjustable nose loop to fit the headcollar.
• Begin with leash-free wear during familiar, enjoyable activities.

Can a dog eat or drink while wearing it?

Yes. The Gentle Leader rests around the snout but does not function as a muzzle, so your dog can eat a treat, drink water, and catch a tennis ball while wearing it. The minimal straps are designed to help keep your dog cool, and the nose loop has neoprene padding.

• Made with durable nylon and a padded neoprene nose loop.
• Not suitable for dogs with very short snouts, including pugs and bulldogs.

Once your dog has learned better leash manners, the headcollar may be useful as a backup for situations that call for more control, such as a vet visit. PetSafe’s risk-free purchase promise includes assistance with a different size or replacement if the fit is wrong or your dog chews it. PetSafe has developed pet behavior, containment, and lifestyle products since 1998. This Medium headcollar suits handlers working with a pulling dog that has a full-length snout; its adjustable nose loop redirects the dog’s head toward the handler.
