ROUWINNE Hard Bottom Dog Car Seat Cover, 53-Inch Rear Seat Extender with Egg-Crate Foam

ROUWINNE Hard Bottom Dog Car Seat Cover is a rear-seat extender made to cushion dogs and protect vehicle seats, with a 25 mm (0.98 in) egg-crate foam topper and a hard base.

• Expands to 53 in (134.6 cm) wide by 24.8 in (63 cm) deep — gives dogs more room to move and stretch.
• Hard bottom tested to support up to 420 pounds (190.5 kg) — provides a stable platform for the rear seat.
• Seven-layer construction with PU and TPU waterproof layers — helps shield upholstery from wet messes.
• Waterproof coverage for the rear seating area, floor and door sides — helps guard against fur, slobber, scratches and abrasions.
• Foldable hard-bottom plate — makes room for a passenger or child safety seat beside the cover.

This extender is made for dogs that need more usable space and a cushioned place to ride, while helping keep the vehicle’s back seat cleaner. Its broad rear-seat coverage is suited to long drives, larger dogs, older dogs and households travelling with more than one dog.

How much room does the ROUWINNE dog car seat cover provide?

The extender spans 53 inches across and 24.8 inches deep, covering the rear seating area and creating more room for a dog to move around or stretch. The expanded platform is designed to help keep a dog from falling into the footwell. It fits cars, SUVs and small trucks.

• Use the listed width and depth to compare the cover with your vehicle’s rear-seat area.
• The original footwell space remains easier to use for placing items.

How does the hard bottom support dogs and passengers?

The hard-bottom plate is tested for a load of up to 420 pounds, and its 3.7 lb (1.68 kg) weight is compared with 2.7 lb (1.22 kg) plates in the product’s feature comparison. It folds to make space for a person to sit beside the cover or for a child safety seat. A non-slip dot-rubber underside helps keep the cover in place.

• The 3.7 lb plate is designed to offer a firmer base than a soft-bottom hammock.
• Fold the plate to accommodate the adjacent passenger or child seat.

What cushions the dog and protects the vehicle seats?

The 25 mm egg-crate foam topper has hundreds of cushioning points that cradle a dog’s body and are designed to ease joint pressure during rides. The cover is intended for large and senior dogs, including dogs with arthritis or hip dysplasia. Its seven layers include 4×4-density Oxford cloth, a PU coating and a TPU waterproof layer.

• The Oxford cloth uses a 4×4 density, compared with 3×2-density alternatives in the product’s feature comparison.
• The PU coating is described by its material properties as softer and without the smell associated with PVC.
• PU and TPU layers provide two waterproof barriers; non-slip dot rubber lines the bottom.

ROUWINNE’s hard-bottom extender is especially suited to dog owners who want a cushioned, wider rear-seat area and coverage for the seat, floor and door sides. Its foam topper, foldable platform and layered waterproof construction make it a practical fit for car, SUV and small-truck journeys with dogs.
