Ruffwear Swamp Cooler Dog Cooling Vest, Sage Green, X-Large – UPF 50+ Sun Protection

Ruffwear Swamp Cooler Dog Vest is a water-activated evaporative-cooling vest for hot-weather activities, with UPF 50+ sun protection and an integrated leash portal for harness use.

• Soak-to-activate evaporative cooling — helps your dog stay cooler during warm-weather outings.
• UPF 50+ coverage and a relaxed fit — provides shade across more of your dog’s body.
• Updated outer air mesh absorbs and retains more water in high-exposure zones — supports longer cooling during play and exploration.
• Inner mesh lining — helps keep your dog dry and comfortable beneath the vest.
• Integrated leash portal and side-release buckles — make it easier to wear with a compatible harness and put on or remove.

Warm-weather hikes, walks, and camping can leave dogs exposed to heat and direct sun. This vest is made for those outdoor activities, using water evaporation to provide cooling while adding shade. Wear it on its own or as a layer over a harness when heading out to explore.

How does the Swamp Cooler Vest provide cooling?

The vest cools through evaporation: soak it in water, put it on your dog, and go. Its outer layer reflects heat and supports evaporation, while the updated middle layer absorbs more water to help keep your dog cool longer.

• The redesigned external air mesh is made for greater durability and water absorption.
• Water retention is increased in high-exposure zones, supporting play and exploration in hot weather.

What sun coverage and comfort features does it have?

The relaxed-fit vest provides maximum shade and UPF 50+ sun protection. An inner mesh lining sits against your dog to help keep them dry and comfortable while wearing the vest.

• Made for hot-weather activities including hiking, walking, and camping.
• The Sage Green X-Large version is the size and color of this product.

Can the vest be worn over a harness?

Yes, wear it over most harnesses using the integrated leash portal. It is compatible with most harnesses, including Ruffwear Front Range, Hi & Light, and Web Master harnesses.

• Side-release buckles provide an easy on-and-off fastening.
• The vest can also be worn on its own, without layering it over a harness.
