SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap, White, Collarless Entry for Up to 32 Cats

SureFlap is a microchip cat flap that scans your cat’s implanted ID on entry, helping keep unrecognized cats and other animals from entering your home.

• RFID scans on entry — gives cats with recognized microchips selective access without a collar or tag.
• Compatible with 9-, 10- and 15-digit microchip formats — works with common cat identification chips, with stated code exceptions.
• Stores up to 32 cat identities — supports access for multiple cats in one household.
• Flap opening: 4 3/4 in (12.1 cm) high by 5 5/8 in (14.3 cm) wide — compare the opening with your cat’s size.
• Runs on four AA non-rechargeable alkaline batteries — operates without a mains power connection; batteries are not included.
• Three-year warranty — includes the manufacturer’s stated warranty period.

This cat door is made for households that want their own microchipped cats to enter while discouraging neighborhood cats and other animals from coming inside. It is collarless for pets with compatible implanted IDs, and its battery-powered design suits installations where a powered connection is not needed.

Which cats can use the SureFlap microchip cat flap?

It reads common 9-digit Avid Secure, 10-digit FDXA and 15-digit FDXB microchip numbers. The flap learns your cat’s existing identification microchip using simple one-button programming, so a compatible microchipped cat does not need to wear a collar or tag. Microchip numbers beginning 000, 010 or 020 are exceptions to compatibility; the number can be checked with a veterinarian, pet shelter or animal rescue if needed. For a cat without a microchip, programmable collar tags are sold separately.

• RFID identifies registered cats at the entry point.
• Memory holds up to 32 identities.
• Collar tags are an optional separate solution for cats without microchips.

Will the flap opening fit my cat?

The listed opening measures 4 3/4 in (12.1 cm) high by 5 5/8 in (14.3 cm) wide, so compare those dimensions with your cat before choosing it. The clear plastic flap measures 5.59 in (14.2 cm) wide by 5.39 in (13.7 cm) high; this is identified as the smallest area the cat must pass through. The door is designed for installation in doors, windows or walls, and it can fit the hole made for many existing cat doors. SureFlap installation accessories are available separately.

• Check your cat against the stated opening dimensions.
• Designed for door, window and wall installation.
• Can use the opening from many existing cat doors.

How does the lock and battery operation work?

The SureFlap scans for an authorized microchip when a cat enters; screening applies to entry only. A four-way manual lock lets you choose a combination of in and out access, while the robust door and locking mechanism is designed to deter dexterous intruders. Four AA non-rechargeable alkaline batteries power the unit, with an estimated life of up to 12 months depending on use. A flashing red light signals that battery replacement is needed soon.

• Manual lock provides four-way control over entry and exit.
• Low-battery indicator flashes red.
• Battery life varies with use.

What makes this cat flap practical for a multi-cat home?

One-button programming lets you teach the flap your cats’ existing microchip IDs, and the memory can hold up to 32 cats. Its white finish and sleek, modern design suit home interiors, while battery operation avoids the need for a power connection. The flap is designed for selective entry, rather than restricting your cat’s exit; use the manual lock to set the in-and-out combination that suits your household.

• No collar or tag is needed for a cat with a compatible microchip.
• Designed to help prevent unrecognized animals from entering.
• Manufacturer’s three-year warranty.

SureFlap suits cat owners who want microchip-controlled entry for one or more cats and need a flap that can be installed in a door, window or wall. It is intended for cats whose microchip format is compatible, or households using the separately sold programmable collar tags for cats without chips. Its selective entry scan, multi-cat memory and manual in-and-out lock make it a fit for homes managing access for several cats.
