Surgi~Snuggly Dog Surgery Recovery Suit, Large Short Cone Alternative

Surgi~Snuggly is a veterinarian-designed dog surgery recovery suit for spay and neuter recovery, made with breathable custom-milled stretch fabric and an adjustable back panel for bathroom access.

• Invented by veterinarian Dr. Paul O. Williams, drawing on 40 years of experience — a recovery suit with veterinary origins.
• Full-body coverage and a cone alternative — helps protect wounds and incisions while reducing licking, biting, and scratching.
• Flexible stretch construction — lets dogs move naturally and is designed for wearing during rest and sleep.
• Adjustable bathroom-access panel — makes potty breaks possible while keeping coverage over healing areas.
• Large Short size — made for dogs within the stated spine-length, chest-girth, and weight ranges.

After surgery, dogs may need protection around healing areas without a bulky cone restricting their usual movement. This suit is made for recovery at home, including after spay or neuter procedures, and provides coverage while dogs rest, sleep, and move.

How does the Surgi~Snuggly suit protect a dog after surgery?

Its full-body design covers wounds and incisions and works as an alternative to a cone or collar. The suit is designed to help reduce licking and irritation, as well as biting and scratching, during recovery. It is also described as veterinary-approved.

• Provides body coverage for post-surgical use, including spay and neuter recovery.
• Stretch fabric conforms to the dog without restricting natural movement.
• Designed for extended wear during rest and sleep.

How do I choose the Large Short size?

For the Large Short, measure spine length first, from the base of the neck to the base of the tail: the fit range is 16–20 inches (41–51 cm). Then measure chest girth behind the front legs; the range is 22–28 inches (56–71 cm). The approximate weight range is 45–60 lb (20–27 kg).

• Use spine length to determine the size, chest girth to confirm it, and weight to narrow the choice.
• If your dog is between sizes, go up in size.
• Compare your dog’s measurements with all three ranges before choosing Large Short.

How does the suit work for bathroom breaks?

The adjustable back panel opens for potty breaks and closes again to maintain coverage over surgical sites. No zippers, snaps, or alterations are needed. Unlike open-back styles that leave areas exposed, this panel is designed to keep healing areas covered during daily bathroom access.

• Open the panel for bathroom access, then close it to restore coverage.
• The design combines potty access with a secure fit during recovery.

This suit is suited to dogs recovering from surgery, particularly spay or neuter procedures, whose caregivers want body coverage without relying on a cone or collar. The Large Short fit is for dogs measuring within its stated spine, chest, and weight ranges, and the stretch suit is designed to support movement while covering healing areas.
