Dogs can encounter stress around loud sounds, time apart from their families, unfamiliar places, and changes at home. ThunderShirt is made to provide a wearable calming option for these situations, as well as for stress-related behaviors such as barking, hiding, and destructive behavior. Its XX Large Camo Polo style combines the vest’s pressure-wrap design with a specific size and look.

What situations is the Thundershirt calming vest designed for?

It is designed to help ease anxiety or fear associated with everyday and occasional stress triggers. The pressure wrap can be used for thunderstorms and fireworks, separation anxiety, travel, veterinary visits, grooming appointments, crate training, loud noises, and new visitors at home. It is also intended for over-excitement and stress-related behaviors, including problem barking, reactivity, hiding, and destructive behavior.

• Suitable for use around noise-related triggers, including storms and fireworks.
• Made for situations such as travel, grooming, vet appointments, and crate training.
• Rescue dogs are among the dogs the vest has been found highly effective for.

How does its pressure-wrap design work?

Thundershirt uses a patented wrap that applies constant, gentle pressure to a dog’s torso, similar to the comforting pressure of swaddling. The vest is adjustable so you can set the pressure for your dog, and it fastens around the neck and torso. The design is intended to help calm anxiety without medication.

The brand identifies ThunderShirt as the original dog calming vest and the No. 1 vet-recommended dog anxiety vest. Veterinarians, trainers, and pet parents use it; millions of dogs have been helped, with an over-80% success rate. Separately, 89% of pet parents reported an improvement in their dog’s stress-related behaviors when using the vest. These are the product’s stated outcome figures, rather than a promise of an individual dog’s response.

• Pressure is delivered around the torso rather than through a medication.
• The wrap can be adjusted to provide the pressure your dog needs.

How do you put on and care for the vest?

Fasten the vest around your dog’s neck and torso for a secure fit; no training is required. Its lightweight, soft, breathable fabric is machine washable, making it suitable for repeated use in the situations it is designed for. The XX Large designation identifies the size, while Camo Polo identifies this version’s style.

The calming approach is described as scientifically proven to help calm anxiety and fear and reduce over-excitement. If you want to combine approaches, ThunderShirt can be paired with ThunderEase Dog Calming Pheromone Spray or Diffuser, powered by Adaptil, and ThunderBites Calming Chews.

• Fastens at the neck and torso.
• Machine washable fabric.
• No training is needed to use the vest.

Thundershirt XX Large Camo Polo is suited to dog owners looking for an adjustable pressure wrap for anxiety-related situations, including owners of rescue dogs and dogs that show stress-related behaviors. It provides gentle torso pressure in a lightweight, breathable, machine-washable vest.
