For turnout, a horse’s sheet needs to cover the body while accommodating movement and providing a protective outer layer. This Tough1 design brings together a waterproof shell and multiple fit and coverage features, including a tail flap and fleece wither protection. Its 84-inch size gives shoppers a specific size to compare when choosing a sheet for their horse.

What is the Tough1 Turnout Sheet made to provide?

It provides a waterproof outer shell for turnout, constructed from 600 denier ripstop material. The shell is the sheet’s outer layer; the product description does not identify an insulation or warmth rating, so the stated function is waterproof coverage rather than a specified level of warmth. Hunter Green is the listed color, and the product title gives the size as 84 inches (213.36 cm).

How does the sheet accommodate movement and secure at the front?

Large shoulder gussets are included to allow the horse freedom of movement. At the front, the sheet uses a double-buckle closure and a “Quick Grip” tab for extra security. These are distinct design details: the gussets are positioned to support movement, while the buckles and tab form the front closure.
