Shaping rounded or contoured areas calls for a shear suited to detail work. The Gator’s curved blade is made for shaping specific parts of a pet’s coat, while its balanced construction and tension system support repeated scissoring. Its 8-1/2-inch size gives groomers a clear measurement when choosing shears for this kind of work.

What grooming work is the curved blade designed for?

The curved blade helps shape top knots, tails and feet. Its curve is intended for forming those grooming details, making this shear a purpose-built choice for finishing those areas rather than a general-purpose straight-blade style.

• Use the curved edge when shaping top knots.
• It is also intended for shaping tails and feet.
• The shear measures 8-1/2 inches (21.6 cm) overall.

What supports a smooth scissoring action?

A double-screw tension system produces smooth scissoring. The shears are also precision weighted and balanced, combining these design details to reduce the effort needed for scissoring.

• Double-screw tension is built into the shears.
• Reduced scissoring effort is designed to help increase productivity.
• Less effort during scissoring is intended to reduce hand fatigue.

What are the blade and handles made and shaped for?

The blade is made from a stainless steel alloy with a Rockwell hardness rating of 57, and the alloy allows it to be honed to razor sharpness. The blades stay sharp for months. Contoured handles and finger rests are shaped for comfort, adding an ergonomic detail to the shear’s working design.
