Otoolling Retractable Dog Tie Out Reel, Grey 14.9 m Wall-Mounted Cable

Otoolling Retractable Dog Tie Out Reel is a 49 ft (15 m) retractable cable made to give dogs room to move in outdoor spaces such as yards, campsites and balconies.

• 49 ft (15 m) retractable cable — gives a dog more room to move than a short leash.
• External buckle-style lock — holds the line at the extended length to prevent sudden retraction.
• Mounts on concrete, brick or wood walls, poles and door frames — keeps the tie-out off the ground.
• ABS plastic, alloy steel and stainless steel with a thick PVC coating — designed for outdoor exposure and corrosion resistance.
• Also works as a laundry line for smaller items — adds a second use at home or while travelling.

This wall-mounted tie-out is made for situations where a dog needs room to move within an outdoor area without a traditional ground stake and long rope taking up space. Use it in a yard, on a lawn, at a campsite or on a balcony. Its retractable design keeps the line gathered when it is not extended, while the mounting options let you choose a suitable fixed surface for the space.

How much room does the tie-out provide?

The cable extends to 49 ft (15 m), giving a dog a broader roaming area in the chosen setting. That reach is intended to address the limited range of a short leash, so the dog can move around without the handler needing to chase or tug the line. The product is gray.

• Made for use in yards, lawns, campsites and balconies.
• Retractable cable design keeps the tie-out attached to its reel.

How does the locking mechanism work?

An external buckle-style lock secures the extended line: loop it around the base to hold the selected length. This helps prevent sudden retraction and reduces the risk of the cable snapping from excessive pulling. Extend the cable to the desired position before securing it.

• Locking mechanism is external and buckle-style.
• The line is secured by looping it around the base.

Where can the reel be mounted?

The reel can be mounted to walls, poles or door frames made of concrete, brick or wood. Fixing it to a raised surface avoids the ground stake and long-rope arrangement of a traditional tie-out, helping keep the floor or ground space clear of the line.

• Suitable stated surfaces: concrete, brick and wood.
• Suitable stated mounting locations: walls, poles and door frames.

What is the reel made from, and can it serve another purpose?

The construction combines ABS plastic, alloy steel and stainless steel, with a thick PVC protective coating over the cable. The coating is intended to resist corrosion and rust during outdoor use. The reel can also be used as a laundry line for smaller items such as underwear, socks, towels and baby bibs.

• Secondary uses include balconies, bathrooms and travel.
• The laundry-line use is for smaller items.

Otoolling Retractable Dog Tie Out Reel suits dog owners who want a fixed, retractable outdoor tie-out for a yard, lawn, campsite or balcony, and households that can use a line for drying smaller laundry items. Its extended cable, mountable reel and secondary laundry-line function bring those uses together in one product.
