Tetra Whisper Internal Aquarium Power Filter, 135 GPH, Quiet Underwater Motor

Tetra Whisper is an internal power filter for 10- to 30-gallon aquariums, moving up to 135 gallons of water per hour to filter aquarium water from inside the tank.

• Motor operates underwater — helps keep filter operation quiet.
• Mounts inside the aquarium with just 1 inch of space from the wall — keeps the outside of the tank clear.
• Filter floss traps debris and fish waste, while Ultra-activated carbon helps remove odor and discoloration — combines mechanical and carbon filtration in one cartridge.
• Works in water as shallow as 2 inches — suits turtle tanks and aquarium waterfall setups.
• Includes one pre-assembled Whisper Bio-Bag filter cartridge — ready to fit into the filter.

An internal filter is useful when you want filtration equipment contained within the aquarium rather than hanging outside it. The Whisper design clips to the aquarium wall, leaving the tank able to sit close to a wall, and can be concealed by décor. Its underwater motor, adjustable mounting and shallow-water operation make it suitable for several aquarium layouts, including setups for turtles or a waterfall effect.

What aquarium size and filtration rate does it support?

The Tetra Whisper Internal Power Filter is made for aquariums holding 10 to 30 gallons and filters up to 135 gallons per hour. Its internal pump moves aquarium water through the filter cartridge, where debris and fish waste are caught by the floss and carbon helps reduce odor and discoloration. This gives the filter a defined capacity range for choosing it to match an aquarium.

• Rated for 10- to 30-gallon aquariums.
• Water is drawn through the cartridge for filtration.

How does the Whisper filter clean water and limit noise?

The filter combines cartridge floss with Ultra-activated carbon, while its motor runs below the water inside the aquarium. The floss traps physical debris and fish waste as water passes through; the carbon helps remove odor and discoloration. With the motor submerged, the filter is designed for quiet operation compared with an arrangement that places the motor outside the tank.

• Uses large Whisper BioBag cartridges that are easy to change.
• Provides filtration inside the aquarium rather than using an external hanging filter.

Can it fit shallow water or a tank close to a wall?

Yes. The Tetra Whisper can function with water as shallow as 2 inches, and its internal mounting design lets the aquarium sit 1 inch from the wall. That shallow-water capability makes it suitable for turtle tanks and for creating a waterfall inside the aquarium; the internal filter can also be hidden behind décor.

• Designed to clip directly onto the aquarium wall.
• Internal placement keeps filter equipment off the outside of the tank.

What is included, and how is the filter positioned?

One pre-assembled Whisper Bio-Bag filter cartridge comes with the Tetra Whisper Internal Power Filter. An adjustable clip supports different setups, and the filter adjusts for high or low water levels using suction cups and/or a bracket. The included cartridge provides the floss and Ultra-activated carbon filtration media in a single replaceable unit.

• Mounting options include suction cups and/or a bracket.
• The adjustable clip accommodates different water-level setups.

The Tetra Whisper is suited to aquarium keepers who want an internal filter for a 10- to 30-gallon tank, particularly when the tank needs to sit near a wall or operate with shallow water. Its internal mounting, adjustable position and included pre-assembled cartridge make it a practical fit for standard aquarium filtration as well as turtle and waterfall setups.
