Open bags of pet food can be awkward to store and scoop from, especially when food needs to stay contained between meals. This medium container is made for storing dry food at home, with a locking lid and a scoop kept close to hand. simplehuman designs household tools to make everyday routines more efficient; this container brings that approach to pet feeding and pantry storage.

How much dry food does the medium container hold?

It holds 25-29 lb / 11-13 kg of dry pet food and is sized for typical 25 lb retail bags. The amount that fits depends on food density, so the same container may hold different volumes of kibble from different brands. For bulky or large kibble, consider sizing up to allow for its greater volume.

• Made for dry dog food, cat food, or bird seed.
• Food density varies by brand, affecting how much fits.
• Large or bulky kibble may need a larger container.

How does the lock-tight lid help keep food contained?

Clamp the lid shut and its silicone gasket forms an airtight seal. The large ergonomic handle locks the lid in place with one smooth motion, helping keep food fresh and preventing curious pets from getting into the container. The lid-and-handle design makes closing the container part of the regular feeding routine, rather than requiring a separate tie or clip for an open bag.

• The gasket forms the seal when the lid is clamped shut.
• The handle both closes and locks the lid.

Where is the scoop stored, and can the inner bucket be removed?

Yes. The included measuring scoop attaches magnetically to the underside of the lid, so it stays with the container between feedings. The inner bucket is BPA-free and lifts out for cleaning, giving you access to the inside without needing to clean around a fixed bucket.

• The scoop is included and stored under the lid.
• The inner bucket is removable and BPA-free.

Can it store anything besides pet food?

Yes. Along with kibble and bird seed, the container can hold bulk pantry staples such as flour, rice, sugar, or charcoal. Its brushed stainless steel finish can be coordinated with matching simplehuman trash cans in the kitchen. The same storage format can therefore serve for dry pet food or a selection of household bulk goods.

• Suitable for bulk flour, rice, sugar, or charcoal storage.
• Matching simplehuman trash cans are available for a coordinated look.
• The container is backed by a 10-year manufacturer warranty.

This container suits households that store dry food for dogs, cats, or birds and want a locking lid, a ready-to-use scoop, and a removable bucket for cleaning. It is also useful for bulk pantry items. For large or bulky kibble, its capacity depends on food density, so this medium size is best matched to the food’s volume as well as its weight.
